I have had acne since I was 15 and I have just turned 18. Fortunately my acne is dying down a bit and is less frequent. However, there is still plenty of red dots on my face. I have felt them and there is no volume to them they are just red blemishes. I picked at my face often when my acne was bad and I believe they are acne scars. Are acne scars like this permanent or will they eventually go away? Also, is there any way I can remove the redness.

You can’t remove them completely, but you can have a skin peel – which is a chemical peel and there is a level of risk, but if you are really unhappy then look into it.

Whatever you do don’t try it yourself at home – even though there are packs that are sold, this is dangerous.
However, deep chemical peel treatment (phenol chemical peeling) when carried-out under controlled conditions by an experienced doctor is safe and effective.
